Once you’ve established a marketing process for your copywriting services business, you’ll get several enquiries a day, every day.

Responding to those enquiries takes time. As soon as you can, hire a virtual assistant to handle your enquiries, because your time is valuable.

To make responding to enquiries easy, create a boilerplate response to send out to prospective clients when they get in touch. In addition, you need to create a marketing package – material which is promotional, showing what benefits your clients get from hiring you, as well as informative.

Here are some ideas for what your marketing package could contain:

* a short bio (100 words max) with a photo. Note: you’re a consultant, not a potential employee, so you don’t need to send your CV, no matter how impressive;

* a couple of writing samples in PDF form;

* links to your online portfolio, with short descriptions, again in PDF form;

* a case study relating to the topic of the enquiry;

* your rate sheet.

You marketing package will change over time. Review what you’re sending out at least once a month. Keep the material you send SHORT, to the point, and easy to read an understand.

The tone of the material you send should be informal, but not too casual.
